Get Involved

Bring time, care, and lived experience into the county network

There are practical ways to support members at every level, from welcoming people at their first meeting to helping shape county-wide advocacy and community programming.

Join the work

A stronger organisation starts with people who show up

Centralorganisation for Hjart- och Lungsjuka i Vasternorrlands Lan depends on volunteers, local association partners, family members, and advocates who help keep support visible and welcoming across Vasternorrland.

Volunteer at gatherings

Help welcome members, prepare rooms, guide conversation tables, and make county events feel easy to enter for new participants.

Support peer activities

Assist with small group meetups, digital check-ins, and low-threshold wellbeing sessions shaped around breath, movement, and everyday routines.

Share lived experience

Contribute member perspectives that strengthen advocacy, improve information materials, and help the organisation respond to real needs.

Back local outreach

Represent the network at open days, municipal meetings, and partner activities so more people know where support can be found.

How participation works

Choose a role that fits your energy, schedule, and experience

Some people join by helping a few times each year. Others become regular coordinators in a local association or part of a regional working group. We build involvement around continuity, clarity, and realistic expectations, especially for people already balancing health, care, work, or family responsibilities.

  • Introductory conversations help match new volunteers with practical tasks and local contacts.
  • Shared planning, simple handovers, and clear responsibilities reduce pressure and make participation sustainable.
  • Families, former caregivers, and allies are welcome when their involvement supports members respectfully.

Start here

Three straightforward ways to begin

  1. Attend an open association meeting to meet coordinators, hear current priorities, and decide what kind of role feels realistic.
  2. Contact the organisation to volunteer for one event, one welcome task, or one outreach shift before taking on anything ongoing.
  3. Stay connected through updates and workshops if you want to contribute knowledge before committing to regular responsibilities.

Current needs

We are especially looking for event helpers, peer group support, and regional outreach contacts

People with calm presence, practical coordination skills, or experience navigating heart and lung conditions can make an immediate difference.
